Biographical Text
Samen Prokopchuk was born in the city of Sokal-Gorod in the Sokalskiy region of Poland. He came to Vancouver in 1922 where he worked as a barber. Samen attended meetings at Clinton Hall in the 1920's. He participated in the Ukrainian Language School at the ULFTA where he enjoyed and dedicated his time to reading and reciting poetry.
