Biographical Text
Constantin Hrehoriak was born in Kitsman in the region of Czernewtci, Austria. He arrived in Canada via Montreal, Quebec in 1924. He crossed the Canadian Prairies to British Columbia where he worked as a logger in Golden. After a name change in 1929 he became known as Kenneth Horick. In 1933 Horick moved to Langley where he farmed.
Kenneth participated in the Ukrainian community from the time he arrived in Vancouver and was an active member of the Ukrainian Labour Farmer Temple Association when the Hall opened in 1928. He joined for the camaraderie. Kenneth took come English language classes, participated in the choir, danced, and performed in plays.
